Books/CDs are maintained by using a unique numbering system with a code appended to the number which signifies to which category the book/cd belongs to (E.g. Java, VB, VC++ etc.). This number enables you for searching the required book/cd in the library.
Due to the unique numbering scheme given to the books/cds depending on its categories, any new book/CD entry to a particular category does not require the whole system to be reshuffled.
